The Climate Reality – Green School Co-ordinator Mrs Rekha Lala visited our school on 29.09.21. It was a great opportunity to interact with her.
Mrs Rekha Lala toured the school campus and the Kindergarten Block. The most unique feature of the school infrastructure - the Jali system was witnessed during her visit. This uniqueness was instrumental for the school to win 'The Green School Programe' – Silver Award in 2019. She was also greeted by Mr Sankarnarayanan, who had received the Green School award in 2019 on behalf of the school. Mrs Rekha Lala appreciated each initiative taken by the school and took pictures to be shared in the Climate Reality Magazine. Her visit has motivated us to work more for Climate Reality – Green School program.

My journey till 'Dr .Radhakrishnan Best Teacher Award'
The announcement of 'Best Teacher Award' put me in a mixed emotion. I didn't know whether I was very happy or in a state of heaviness. It took me a day to internalize the happiness.
I received a call from the CEO's Office and was asked to be available for the Award function at "Dr. Radhakrishnan Panchayat Union Middle school, Thiruthani on Sept.5th, Teachers' Day.
I reached the venue at 8.45 a.m. There were 12 Government school teachers and myself (T.I.M .H.S.School.) from Thiruvallur District to receive the award. I was excited. My happiness doubled to know that Dr. Radhakrishnan completed his primary education from the same school. There was no boundary for my happiness after knowing that the school and the town where he studied were very close to his heart. It was a great honour for me to receive the Award from the same School.
The dais was chaired by Dr. Alby John Varghees, District Collector, Thiruvallur, Honorable Minister for Dairy Mr .Nazer ,other dignitaries from Educational Department of TN and a few MLAs . The function started formally with a prayer song and Tamil Thai Vazhuthu. All the dignitaries delivered motivational speeches on the glory of Dr. Radhakrishnan, the role of teachers in shaping young minds and the respect for teachers in the society. After that the most awaited part of the function 'honoring the best teachers' commenced.Teachers were honoured with a citation, Cash award of Rs. 10,000 and a silver medal.
All awardees were invited for a virtual meet with Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. Stalin on September 8th at the Thiruvallur collectorate. In his message he appreciated all of us and requested us to continue the unconditional service of moulding young minds.
I dedicate this award to my parents who were instrumental in instilling in me the core belief of commitment, hard work and the mantra "work is worship" and to my husband& my family who are always very supportive and travelling along in my journey.
Secondly, I dedicate this award to T. I. School, the Management AMM foundation and the Principal for giving all the freedom for learning and growing. I have learnt a lot from my teacher friends and non-teaching staff. I feel each and every plant and the tiny stones in the T.I. campus taught me a lot .
Most importantly, I dedicate this to my loving, affectionate children of T.I. I always believe that the students are my Guru. I consider their affection and reflections as my first award.
I'm so humbled with this award. I still believe that I'm a student, I have to travel a lot …the journey continues……
Thank you everyone with abundance of affection
"The light of the world, the beacon in the dark and the hope that gives the students the strength to survive, is none but a teacher."
In this fast-paced world, we forget to express gratitude to one another. Thus, this Teachers' Day served as a perfect opportunity for the students of grade 12 to express their gratitude to their beloved teachers. On 3rd of September, the school celebrated Teachers' Day to honor the gifted souls, who work tirelessly to make sure that the future is bright for all of us.
We are aware of the fact, that the corona virus pandemic has compelled the world to move completely to an online setup, and so the Teachers' Day celebration could not get any different. With a lot of enthusiasm, we students organized various events virtually throughout the day, unveiling their respect, dedication and love for our teachers
Well, every morning is a new opportunity to do things we missed out the previous day. On that note, we started the day with a special assembly. Its customary that we begin our day with a prayer. The prayer song and the 'Tamil Thai vazhthu' were sung by the nightingales of class 12. Then, we had Sahanaa enlightening us with her inspiring thought for the day. Swethapriya then recited a touching poem in Tamil which was followed by Meenakshi showcasing her beautiful singing skills. Truly exemplary and heartwarming was the speech rendered by Mahak, which threw light on the significance of the day and helped her express her sentiments for her teachers. Finally yet importantly, a videotape was played wherein all the students had their messages being conveyed which made it a lot more nostalgic for the teachers.
Then the student teachers handled lessons for the day for classes I to XI. They had a wonderful time with the students and kept them engaged and focused. In sharing their knowledge they developed their self confidence and kindled the curiosity in the young minds. And then the students impressed everyone with their mellifluous songs , heartwarming letters, enlightening speeches and smashing instrumental music. Which was followed by fun filled games like Connections, Pictionary, Hangman. Though it was conducted virtually, the teachers thoroughly enjoyed it. The teachers were split into teams and they played the games. Along with teachers, even the students had a great time in conducting the games. On the whole, the day was filled with positivity and happiness!!
