The short film – 'Tiffin box', was screened online to the students of class VI to VIII with 83 participants on 31.07.2021 (Saturday)between 9:00am and 9.45am hosted by Mrs. Nirmala. An activity on best out of waste was conducted on 26thJuly 2021 by the Science teachers Mrs. Manjula Menon and Mrs. A.Krishnaveni for students of Grade IV.
Seventy three students participated in it. Students spoke to students about the activity and its importance. A video clipping on the same was screened.
Students were ready and excited with materials required for the activity. Teachers spoke about the importance of 'Reuse' materials to save the environment from being dumped with loads of waste. Children came out with interesting ideas of making different things. To mention a few of their presentations are, a bird feeder, flower vases, storage containers, bookmarks with throw away materials. Many were able to complete within the stipulated time. Some students were granted grace time to complete the activity, as completing the task taken was the prime motto of the session. An assignment was created in Science Channel on Microsoft Teams for students to upload the picture of their innovations. An appreciation was sent to every upload.
This activity facilitated students to bring out their creativity and innovative ideas and at the same time create an awareness on 'Recycle and Reuse'.

On the 14th students of Std III were on a virtual field trip to the Taj Mahal. The activity commenced with an introductory on different vacation experiences and the modes of travel. Post discussion, the students were briefed about the Taj mahal, the story behind it. An animated video of Emperor Shahjahan and Mumtaz and a few clippings of the Taj with an aerial view were shared in the form of a power point presentation and an entire Ariel view of the Taj as covered by the AirPano App was shared with students. As part of their learning, students answered a worksheet on the same.

A Virtual Field trip for students of the Primary Section has been conducted on Microsoft Teams Platform where the students of the respective classes undertook a virtual tour along with the teacher. Students of Std I experienced a Field Trip to a farm on the 5th of July. The children got to learn about farm animals. As a pre learning activity, a video on farm animals with a voice over by a teacher was screened where children learnt about different farm animals, their young ones and how they are useful to us. As a post learning activity a discussion was initiated where students participated and a reading comprehension live worksheet was assigned to assess the learning outcome. This was followed by an assignment on drawing farm animals with the help of guided video link. Students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and learnt the value of taking care of animals.

On the 29th July students of Std V experienced a Virtual tour of the Seven Wonders of the World. The group was inducted with a Power point presentation on of the Seven Wonders of the World. Airpano 360°album of Seven Wonders of the World was showcased along with Airpano 360° video on The Great wall of China and two youtube 360° videos on the remarkable wonders of the world. A pre and post worksheet was assigned for students to have a hands-on experience. Students gained abundant knowledge on the architecture and the significance of the Seven Wonders of the World. As part of post learning the students took up an online worksheet.

Students of Std II were invited to a virtual Field Trip to the Zoo on the 13th of July. As a pre activity sheet, which children answered a few questions through the link shared on MS Teams where children identified the animals shown on the PPT and categorized them based on the habitat. To give them a real zoo experience, a video on Nehru zoological park (Hyderabad) was screened where children saw different animals with a teacher's voice over. While virtually travelling through the zoo children shared their knowledge on the animals they saw. A live streaming of the Vandalur Zoological Park was shown to the children.

The Junior Heritage Club conducted an activity virtually for students of Std IV and V on the 22nd and 23rd of July where the Madurai Meenakshi Temple's heritage was the topic of discussion. Students were explained in detail about the term 'Heritage'. The Pictures of Madurai Meenakshi Temple were shown and the teacher shared the origin of the temple in the form of a story. Using the Airpano App a 360º view of the temple was also shown to the students. Students enthusiastically participated and shared their experiences on visiting Madurai Meenakshi Temple. Students gained knowledge on the history behind Madurai Meenakshi(Stalapuranam) Temple and its architecture.

Newsletters or school magazines are one of the best ways to directly connect with the community. Newsletter design is as important as the content; an eye-catching and carefully drafted newsletter design will draw the readers' attention. Creating the right newsletter design isn't easy. There are seemingly infinite number of designs out there, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Finding the right colors, shapes, text formats and image placements can take up a huge amount of time.
The Department of English conducted 'Designing School Magazine Cover Page' activity for the students of class XI in the month of July'21. The students had to design the cover page and also write a paragraph in about 200 words describing the design. This activity was aimed at tapping the creativity and writing skills of the students. It is heartening to know that students participated enthusiastically. The best design will be used to design the cover page of this years' newsletter.

A Hand washing session was conducted on 24th July 2021 by Mrs. Dorothy, Mrs. Usha and Ms. Krithika for students of UKG.
Fifty four students participated in it. It began with a greeting by the teachers. Students were all ready and excited with all the materials required for the activity. Mrs Dorothy spoke about the importance of washing hands. A small song and a Story Video about the spread of germs was shared on screen. This facilitated children to understand about germs and relate to their surroundings and share their awareness about the spread of germs and its prevention. The steps to 'Hand Wash' was taught to children in the form of a song (THIS IS THE WAY TO WASH MY HANDS) and an instruction picture chart. A step by step process of washing hands was demonstrated by the teachers and the students followed the same. The Junior Astronomy Club organized a student led presentation on the topic Celestial bodies and Space travel by eminent astronauts 0n the 9th and 13th of July where students of Std V presented their Power point presentations to students of std IV. The students of Std V were guided by their Science teachers and 16 participants presented their PPT. The activity served as a great motivation to students of Std IV in terms of building the required skill sets to take up such activities. Students gained the skills in skimming, scanning and presenting information through PPT and the activity has for sure built their confidence levels.

The Art club was inaugurated for this academic year on 03.07.2021. Compass art activity was initiated by the President , Saahithya of Class XI for the art club students. Students from classes 6 to 9 participated enthusiastically and learnt the technical drawing with inscribing circles.
Outcome of the activity
It helped students to relax, relieve stress and pay attention for the subject which mimics the experience of meditation. This drawing helps to bring relaxation and improve focus, as it relieves students brain from the strain of continuous concentration.
