 Two teams (Boys team & Girls team) from our school participated in the T-20 5A Side Football Tournament, held at Nehru Stadium on 07th & 08th April 2012. Our Boys team entered the quarter finals and the Girls team bagged the Third Place. Shantha Lakshmi.K of Class VIII 'A' won the Man of the Tournament title.
V-Excel, alongwith Kuruvilla Jacob Initiative, conducted a workshop for teachers - 'A Class Apart', on 09th, 10th & 11th April 12, at Lady Andal Matric. Hr. Sec. School, Chetpet.
The workshop gave importance to excellence in education and also on children with special needs.
The teachers who attended the workshop, had a sharing session with the other staff of our school, on the crux of the workshop.
Ms. Tashka Hodge from Ngee Ann Polytecnic, Singapore, made a visit to our school today. As a part of her project study, Ms. Tashka will make a comparative study on the Montessori level of education in India and Singapore.
Nature Club (WWF) students of Class VI & VII visited Adayar Poonga on 10 March 12, to enable them to learn the importance of creek in maintaining a balance in the eco system.
As a part of Heritage Club activity, the club members of Classes VIII & IX were taken on a trip to Mysore from 02nd March to 06 March '12, to enable children appreciate the rich heritage of Mysore.
A 5-day orientation programme in our school from 13th to 17th March '12 being conducted by Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, for Tamil Pandits from Ponneri & Thiruvallur Districts, to understand the importance of Rights of children & Compulsory Education for children.
The Ponneri Educational District Bharath Scouts and Guides conducted the Founder's birthday on 22 Feb 12. Our school Scout Masters Mr.K.Ravi Kumar and Mrs.S. Rama Maheswari were honoured with a shield & merit certificates for their untiring service for the past 15 years in the World Scouts and Guides movement.

164 Nature Club members of our school (Classes VI to IX & XI), accompanied by 20 teachers, went on a turtle walk to Neelankarai on 17 Feb '12. Students were engaged in a documentary film show, where the stress was laid on threats to turtles and their conservation. This event was organised by Tree Foundation.
10 students of Class XI were chosen for the final round of 'Food Blogging' competition, organised by and held at MOP Vaishnav College for Women, Nungambakkam, on 17th Feb '12. The winners are :

Class XII was given an emotional farewell by Class XI, on 18 Feb '12. The group also organised a Tamil Skit as a part of the event. We wish them all the very best for the approaching Higher Secondary Examination, as well as for their future endeavors.

20 students from Classes II to IX attend various competitions at Dr.Nalli Kuppuswami Vivekananda Vidyalaya Junior College, Korattur, in lieu of Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi Celebrations.
The student of Nature Club of our school went on a trip to Vedanthangal on 29 Jan '12. 27 students of TI and 3 students from SRM Hr. Sec.
School,Ambattur, along with 5 teachers made an exciting trip to study the semi-aquatic migratory birds. The long journey started at 5:45am from school and the team got back by around 4:45pm loaded with a lot of information and real life experience.
ISHRAE (Indian Society for Heating, Refrigeration and conditioning Engineers), Chennai, conducted a painting competition on 09 Jan '12, for Classes IV to VIII on the topics 'Save Energy', 'Avoid Plastic', 'Save Water' and 'Conserve Energy for a bright future'. 40 students participated from our school.

Republic Day was celebrated on 26th Jan '12. Our Pricipal Mrs. Sheela Ragavan, hoisted the National Flag, which was followed by cultural events.

English Debate for Class IX & XI was conducted on 23 Jan '12. The topic for Class IX was ' A beautiful habit and hobby called 'reading'
is gradually fading'. One team spoke 'for' the topic and the other spoke 'against'. The team that spoke 'for', won the debate for their flow of thoughts, fluency of language and debating skills. The topic for Class XI was 'Technology is growing every day. Will it surpass Man very soon?'. The best speakers were A.S.Rohit of Team A and Swarna Gowri of Team B.

The 46th Annual Conference of AMTI (Association of Mathematics Teachers of India) was conducted at Vidya Prathistan, Baramati, Pune, from 27th to 29th Dec '11. 05 students from Class XI presented a paper on 'Mathematics In Everyday Life'.
A 3-day workshop & training on PSFA (Preparing School for Accreditation) was conducted by NABET (National Accreditation Board for Education & Training), which is a wing of QCI (Quality Council of India), at Hotel Vijay Park, Chennai, from 22nd to 24th Dec '11. 17 participants (Principals & Teachers of various schools) underwent this training programme.
